Espresso School for the Barista
From February 2010, our Sydney Espresso School will be conducting Domestic Espresso Classes on Tuesdays as well as Saturdays!
The science and art of espresso for a barista is one of the most contagious and enjoyable skills to acquire. The tactile nature of extracting coffee and texturing of milk makes every cup a challenge. As the saying goes "you are only as good as your last cup", so the focus, coordination and speed of the operator is what makes a classy barista a consistent barista. A cafe or restaurant cannot rely totally on one barista. Thus it is important to work on building a team culture that delivers a high standard of product. A coffee culture with high standards in quality and speed of service is of great value to your business. In the pursuit of excellence, Toby's Estate Espresso School for baristas provides training workshops designed to benefit all levels of experience, whether you are non-industry, new to the industry or a professional barista. Our dedicated school space has 4 x 2 group espresso machines with grinders for hands on practice. Classes are limited to groups of 6-8 people to allow for hands-on practice and one-on-one attention. Group bookings are welcome. The invaluable training we offer will definitely fastrack the passionate enthusiastic barista to the fabulous world of espresso coffee! Barista Courses are available at Levels 1-5, including latté art. Students are awarded a certificate for each level and national accreditation upon completion of Levels 1-4. Classes are held during the day and evenings throughout the week. Evening classes start at 6.00pm until 9.00pm at the Toby's Estate Roastery and Espresso Bar at 129 Cathedral St, Woolloomooloo. All course prices are inclusive of GST. Cancellation Policy: Please note a $50 per person cancellation fee applies to all bookings cancelled within 7 days of course date. No refunds will be issued for any cancellations within 24 hours of course date. Gift Voucher bookings cancelled with 48 hours of class date cannot be re-scheduled or amended in anyway.
