September 2025 Single Origin Rotation
3rd Sep 2025
This month, all eyes are on Daterra. From their Collection lots to a rare Masterpiece fresh off auction, September is stacked with some of the best Brazil has to offer. Structured, juicy, complex - these coffees show why Daterra has earned its rep as one of the most innovative farms in the world.
But it’s not just Brazil bringing the goods. Kenya’s back with a classic washed lot that’s bright and familiar, Costa Rica comes in vibrant and fruit-driven, Colombia delivers intensity with its tropical punch, and Sumatra stands out for its complexity - molasses sweetness, spice, and a depth you don’t often see from the region.
Single Origin Espresso

Brazil, Daterra Moonlight
Part of Daterra’s Collection Menu, this coffee is a great showcase of what the farm does best. The acidity is bright but refined, the sweetness is clear, and the mouthfeel adds a smooth, creamy weight. Notes of dried apricot, jaffa and dulce de leche. Approachable and espressive, it’s the perfect entry point to single origins.

Kenya, Ndundu
One of the first coffees that’s landed this year (which happens mid-year), so it’s fresh and tasting great. It continues our run of excellent Kenyans, delivering the lively acidity and sweetness we always look forward to. Notes of tangerine, white grape and caramel. Familiar, reliable, and consistently delicious.

Brazil, Daterra Reserve
This one leans into the classic Brazilian style - comforting, familiar, and well structured. Expect that nutty, chocolatey backbone with a gentle acidity for that lil bit of sizzle. Notes of redcurrant, hazelnut, and butterscotch in the cup. Those flavours aren’t from the roast; they’re straight from the coffee itself - we just roast it in a way that lets its natural character shine through.

Indonesia, Putra Gayo Mill
Unlike the more common wet-hulled process in Sumatra, producer Iwannitosa specialises in both washed and natural coffees, giving us something a little different and unique. It's complex with a molasses-like sweetness, sticky mouthfeel, and a touch of spice. Notes of blackcurrant, goji berry and licorice make it truly memorable.

Colombia, Villa Maria
Packed with tropical intensity, Villa Maria is like a punch bowl in a cup. Pomegranate, yellow peach and tropical fruit shine with tangy lift and juicy freshness. Complex and exciting, it’s one to share with seasoned palates.

Brazil, Daterra Masterpieces – Alcides Carvalho
Our premium feature this month, sourced from Daterra’s 2024 Auction. Our Green Bean Buyer, Josh, pulled an all-nighter to secure this lot during the auction (worth it!).
It’s a fruit-forward coffee with complex florals and a touch of controlled funk. Refined, vibrant, and elevated - the kind of funk that feels intentional and delicious rather than wild.
