Coffee Fig Compote with Greek Yoghurt

Move over tiramisu, this is going to be your new fave coffee dessert! It’s luscious deliciousness is like a spicy, warm coffee hug. Dried figs are infused with brewed El Futuro coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, clove and cardamom. The tangy taste of Greek yoghurt is the perfect balance to this ‘can’t get enough’ richness.

Ingredients

  • Compote:
    • 4 shots of Toby’s Estate El Futuro blend
    • 200g dried figs, quartered
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom
    • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
    • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
    • 1 peel or orange zest
    • 2 cups of water
    • 700g greek yoghurt
  • Garnish:
    • Fresh fruit of your choice
    • Toasted chopped almonds
    • Orange zest

STEP 1

To make compote, combine brewed coffee, figs, honey, spices, orange zest and water in a medium saucepan. Simmer on medium heat until reduced and thickened. 

STEP 2

Once reduced and cooled slightly, remove orange zest and serve over Greek yoghurt, adding fresh fruit, toasted chopped almonds and orange zest.

STEP 3

Enjoy for breakfast or dessert.
