The kind of funk that feels intentional.
The Daterra Masterpieces Alcides Carvalho is our premium feature this month - straight from Daterra’s 2024 Auction. This auction was dedicated to Brazilian researchers, scientists, geneticists, and scholars whose work has shaped the coffee world.
Our green bean buyer Josh even pulled an all-nighter to secure this lot during the auction (worth it!). We’re thrilled to have it on our menu and to share something this special. (Full list of coffees and bids here)
It’s a fruit-forward coffee with complex florals and a touch of controlled funk. Refined, vibrant, and elevated - the kind of funk that feels intentional and delicious rather than wild. You’ll find tasting notes of orange blossom, apricot, and Turkish delight. Even opening the bag is an experience, with an aroma that fills the room.
Fun fact: The coffee variety is Ceuci, created at Daterra as part of their experimental lots. Ceuci comes from Arara (a cross between Yellow Catuaí and Obatã) and was named after an indigenous Brazilian goddess of plantations.
