Barista Foundations

Who is it suitable for?

Barista Foundations is designed for coffee enthusiasts that want to learn the technical skills to produce consistent and high-level espresso and milk texturing for a café environment or at home. This is an entry level barista course with a hands-on approach to learning delivered by our highly skilled training team. This course will cover: 

  • Equipment overview
  • The Process: grinding, tamping & extracting
  • How to follow a recipe
  • Steaming and pouring milk
  • Latte art
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the equipment

Coffee Sommelier

Who is it suitable for?

Coffee Sommelier is designed for baristas and coffee enthusiasts that want to learn how to taste, analyse and describe a cup of coffee. This is an advanced course that will help you structure your thoughts and better understand the impact of different variables in the final cup. This course will cover:

  • The sensory aspect of tasting
  • The Grid: tasting analysis tool
  • Calibration exercises: analysing and describing a cup of coffee
  • Understanding the correlation between variables controlled and the final cup
  • Using a coffee's Grid profile to find the best recipe for it
