Another fresh crop, and they never disappoint.
In the far western reaches of Ethiopia, not far from the South Sudanese border, sits Gesha Village Estate - planted right beside the Gori Gesha Forest, the birthplace of the Gesha variety. In 1931, seeds from this very forest were collected and eventually made their way to Panama, where Geisha exploded onto the world stage decades later. When Adam Overton and Rachel Samuel established Gesha Village in 2011, they returned to that same forest to source seeds, planting them back into the land where the variety first began.
The 471-acre estate is divided into eight sub-farms, each shaped by its own microclimate. Every delivery of cherry is tracked from the exact block it came from, all the way through to milling and export, ensuring complete traceability. At the same time, Gesha Village has replanted over 30,000 native shade trees and continues to run conservation and climate research projects - proof that biodiversity and coffee farming can thrive side by side.
This lot, Gesha 1931 Natural, comes from those original forest seeds. Dried slowly to draw out sweetness and structure, it delivers the qualities that made this variety legendary with flavour notes of jasmine, peach, and honeydew melon.
